MONDO, the group behind some of the world’s coolest posters and merch, is hosting a Disney show at its permanent gallery this April. The exhibit will be fill feature art from more than 25 artists inspired by Disney films from classics like Aladdin and 101 Dalmatians to new hits like Big Hero 6. The show, titled “Never Grow Up: A Disney Art Show” is a collaboration with Cyclops Print Works, a screen printer known for handling Disney fine art.
To see the show, check out the Mondo Gallery at 4115 Guadalupe St. in Austin. It starts with a free opening reception on Friday, April 28 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. (with a special “Mondo Clubhouse” Kids Party on Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with snacks, a photo booth, face painting, and games) and the exhibit runs until May 13.

Jonathan Burton on 101 Dalmatians: “The most beautiful of the Disney films, principally as it was the first time they used the artists’ original line drawings in the final cells through the process of the copy machine. The line work is sketchy, the color misaligned and it makes for a style full of life.”
Ken Taylor on Big Hero 6: “My eldest daughter’s favorite, and I love so much about this film. The story is super fun, but it’s the city [San Fransokyo] that gets me in.”
Matt Taylor on Aladdin: ““I wanted to try and incorporate some classical Arabian styling and decoration into the piece, but I think the most enjoyable part was getting to draw that Genie busting out of the lamp.”
