If you watch enough Rick and Morty, your mind might start to wander. You might begin to think not linearly, but in multiple dimensions, you might whisper “glip glop” under your breath and catch yourself, covering your mouth in instantaneous remorse for the Traflorkians. You feel this way because you can’t get enough of Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon’s caustic, poignant, insane, hysterical characters and world building. Season Three still hasn’t been announced, after all. Luckily, Los Angeles’s Gallery 1988 is here to staunch the bleeding, with a stunning of gorgeous Rick and Morty fan art created by nerds just like you.
“Some of our favorite artists have created original artwork inspired by the genius of the show,” Jensen Karp at the gallery told The Dot and Line. It’s created in conjunction with Cartoon Network and is the first-ever Rick and Morty art show of its kind.
To see the show and maybe even purchase some pieces, check out the Gallery 1988 West at 7308 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles. It starts with a free opening reception on Friday, January 13, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“That will be the first time people can purchase works. Then, the remaining pieces will go online the following day,” Karp says.
