Bump “Unga Bunga Bunga” This Halloween

There’s nothing more worthy of a listen today than this 10-year-old Flavor Flav ode to animation and absurdity.

Normally, a timely reference or jokey intro would go here. ButI think we’ve aptly covered Halloween, and the following needs, frankly, no jokey introduction. It’s ridiculous enough as it is.

Today’s episode of Dotting the Line: Required Listening for Animation Appreciators is brought to you by Flavor Flav, whose “Unga Bunga Bunga” (yes, that is its name, and also its chorus, so DON’T CHANGE THE CHANNEL) came out ten years ago today. It refers to this Bugs Bunny sketch—which relies on an uncomfortable Aboriginal caricature and has aged poorly, so fair warning—and namedrops Magilla Gorilla, The Jetsons, the animated Tarzan, and Speed Racer. Also, the video is even better than the song. Enjoy.

Thanks for reading The Dot and Line, where we talk about animation of all kinds. Don’t forget to this article and follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
