My Hero Academia 0318: “RUSH!”
Season 3 of My Hero Academia is in full swing, and we’re following every move. Just be careful: spoilers and speculation below.
Huddled behind debris, the group from Ketsubusu eyes the provisional exam’s chaos. Sixty-two hopefuls have passed, and everyone left is starting to panic, fighting over the same prey. But that’s not exactly a bad thing.
With Kirishima in a meatball and Bakugo shooting insults at Shishikura, Kaminari is rightfully terrified. Shishikura meatballs Bakugo too, who throws something to Kaminari — it’s part of his grenade. The blow forces Shishikura right by Kaminari’s targets, and the Shiketsu asshole gets the electrocution he deserves. Thanks to a costume upgrade, Kaminari can finally fight without hurting his friends, and now they’re gonna crush Shishikura.
Deku, Sero, and Uraraka’s plan is a slam dunk, making them the next group to pass. On the way to the anteroom, they meet up with Bakugo’s group. The minor characters erupt in a happy dance while Bakugo speaks to Deku for the first time in weeks. His remark is perceptive yet terrifying: “You’ve made what you borrowed your own, huh?” Looks like Deku wasn’t the only one who realized what “Now, it’s your turn” meant back in “One For All.”
Iida’s running around being the best boy and finds Aoyama deep in the chaos. As the class rep, he wants to ensure his friends pass, even at his own expense. Aoyoma’s so impressed with Iida’s resolve he shoots a very noticeable laser to act as bait. It’s a beautiful act by a character who hasn’t shown much bravery, and a phenomenal showcase for Aoyama’s character development. And yes, the competition comes rushing, but so do their friends, all reunited by Aoyama’s naval beacon. The remaining UA students work together until everyone passes, but there’s one more stage to clear before anyone can get a provisional license — now, the arena crumbles and the kids must turn to rescue.
The Verdict:
“RUSH!” is the kind of episode that makes you shed tears of pride — look how much our babies grew up! It’s also clever, emphasizing both strategy and quick thinking—something everyone’ll need in the next round.
Rating: 9.2
