Here’s Your Chance to Talk With the ‘Tuca & Bertie’ Team About Mental Health

The delightful, surreal, quirky animated show is hosting a Twitter chat with one of The Dot and Line’s own.

With how much The Dot and Line has covered Netflix’s BoJack Horseman, it’s no secret that we’re major Lisa Hanawalt fans. That’s only been cemented by her latest work, Tuca & Bertie, which hit Netflix on Friday, May 2. While both shows boast Hanawalt’s trademark anthropomorphized animals and stylistic flair, make no mistake: T&B stands entirely on its own, a zany gem that avoids comparisons. But much like BoJackT&B navigates the intricacies of its characters’ mental health like few shows do.

That’s why the show is partnering with The Dot and Line’s Sammy Nickalls (hey, that’s me!) on Tuesday, May 7, at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET for a Twitter chat. Using the #TalkingAboutIt hashtag, we’ll discuss “anxiety stuff, work stuff, stress stuff, and all stuff in between.”

#TalkingAboutIt is an online community that calls on users to talk about their mental health as openly as they would their physical health. The only way to beat the stigma is to be open, honest, and raw—and to fill social media with real moments instead of just filtered highlights. And Tuca and Bertie are as real as it gets, even if they are animated (fabulous) birds.

If you want to join in, watch up to episode 3 to avoid any spoilers, and join the conversation! It’ll be just as kooky and delightful as Tuca and Bertie themselves.
