If you, like me, still believe in the artistic magic of ’90s-era Nicktoons, and you happen to live in Austin, Texas, a new exhibit’s opened up that you need to check out. MONDO, the artistic group behind some of the coolest pop-culture-riffing posters and merch of the last 20 years, is hosting a show at its permanent gallery dedicated to art inspired by classic Nickelodeon cartoons and TV shows. Favorites like The Ren and Stimpy Show, Rocko’s Modern Life, SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar, and more will make an appearance.
To see the show, check out the Mondo Gallery at 4115 Guadalupe St. in Austin. It starts with a free opening reception on Friday, December 9, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and the show runs until Saturday, December 17.
For those of us who don’t live in Texas, check out a dope sampling of the art below.
