My biggest complaint with Steven Universe is that it makes you too happy. Too heartwarming. My heart isn’t supposed to be that warm and big. So when I need to be reminded of the current state of our political climate, I remember Offred in The Handmaid’s Tale, and am reminded of how being a woman in the Trump administration is extremely scary, and maybe one day I’ll have to essentially just be an incubator. Do you know of an animated series that gives you such existential dread and despair for our society, John? Do you, John?! (Well, maybe BoJack.) Anyway, WATCH IT, JOHN, GODDAMMIT.
